Why Apple? As you might already know, Apple, the huge computer company, has recently been on many peoples minds. Whether itââ¬â¢s because of its famous Macbooks and iMacââ¬â¢s, or the new iPhone 4, the iPad, or its renowned iPod, all of whom make up part of the revolutionary repertoire of Apple products. Farhad Manjoo celebrates the fact that ââ¬Å"Apple cultivates religious fervor among its adherents in a number of subtle ways, including its mysteriousness and its suggestion that customers are among the chosen onesâ⬠(43). Farhad is insisting that Apple has, not only made loyal customers, but more of a cult of sorts, in which fans of the companies products acclaim their work in many different ways, some so extreme as to getting the company logoâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦So when critics argue that Apple is very controlling over their products and who can develop softwareââ¬â¢s for them or sell them, you can be sure that, that is exactly how CEO Steve Jobs wants it to be. Itââ¬â¢s very clear how this technological mogul has got to where it is, by not compromising or losing focus on what their mission as a company is. Nicholas Bonsack reports, ââ¬Å"In a recent Consumer Reports survey focusing on four aspects of customer service for computers ââ¬â problem solved, phone wait time, and the quality of phone and online support staffs ââ¬â Consumer Reports subscribers gave Apple the highest marks among the top computer vendors for both laptop and desktop tech support. Aside from Apple striving to be the most innovative computer and electronic device manufacturer, they also out do themselves when it comes to customer service, which we all wish was true for most of the companies out there.
